The 2021 Formula 1 season will certainly be one to remember for Carlos Sainz, who made his Ferrari debut and managed to finish ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc in the Formula 1 Driver Standings. The Spaniard is looking forward to the next world championship, with the hope that the Maranello Red team will finally be able to compete regularly for pole positions and race victories.
Obviously in Spain there is great support for the Madrid driver, who was a guest of the television program with live audience ‘El Hormiguero’, where he presented the documentary that will see him protagonist on Amazon Prime together with his father Carlos Sr. The Maranello team’s driver has cleverly unraveled the questions on the balance of power with teammate Charles Leclerc: “I don’t know if having finished the championship up front will change my status or not, also because I have always believed that in Ferrari we start on an equal footing. In Formula 1 importance is given to this battle between teammates, because your teammate is only one who drives the same car as you.” – the Spanish driver explained.

Carlos Sainz did not hide that he has great ambitions for the 2022 Formula 1 season and among these there is certainly his plan of proving to be at the level of reference drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen who battled for the 2021 Formula 1 title until the final corner of the last lap in Abu Dhabi: “With the same car I think they can be beaten or at least on more equal terms than to the cars from this year. Mercedes and Red Bull were faster by eight tenths / one second per lap and I want to think that between all the drivers there is no more than two or three tenths of a difference.”
This issue is at least as old as the history of Formula 1 itself: “If there is a driver who drives a car eight tenths faster, it doesn’t matter how good you are, but you’ll never be able to beat him” – Carlos Sainz explained, before concluding in the statements reported by As: “I hope that Formula 1 can be more balanced next year, so that we can have more fun and compete at a similar level.” – the Scuderia Ferrari driver concluded.
