In a recent interview for SoyMotor, Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz reflects on the relationship with his new Maranello teammate Charles Leclerc:
“First of all, I respect Charles a lot. We have mutual respect for each other. That already gives you a good basis to start with. Charles has a very special story. I am very much a family man. I really like my father, I’m very fond of people close to me, and when I put myself in Charles’s position and see what he’s been through and where he is now, it generates a respect for him. It makes me say ‘Charles’ got to be a good guy, he’s got to be an interesting guy’. And I think so and I say it openly, and that’s why I think we also get along well. I respect Charles for his sporting career, I respect him for his talent, for what he has already achieved at Ferrari in the few years he has been here, what he has achieved in Formula 1 and also sincerely for what he has been through.” – Carlos Sainz said, as reported by the Spanish media.
