Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz admitted that at this stage he is able to drive his SF21 car ‘exactly how he wants’ after finding a breakthrough with car setup as he finished ahead of his teammate in the qualifying session for the 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix, just like he managed one week ago in Mexico City.
Carlos Sainz was sixth in qualifying in Sao Paulo, one place ahead of Charles Leclerc on the grid for today’s sprint event at Interlagos.
The Spanish driver now feels at home at the Maranello team after going in his own direction with car setup, leading to time improvements over a fast lap.
“I think there were some good laps in the quali. Second consecutive quali where I managed to feel the car well underneath me and I get to drive it exactly how I want. Also finding a bit my direction with setup which seems to be also working in the right direction. Very happy.” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz concluded.
