Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz was inevitably asked about the future of Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto during his Thursday media sessions at the Yas Marina circuit ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but he admitted that he does not want to speculate on this matter.

“There are always rumours around Formula 1.” – said Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who was rightfully upset due to a new mistake from the Maranello team in the previous round, the Brazilian Grand Prix – “I don’t think we should give too much attention to that.” – he added.

“I haven’t experienced any change of team principal yet and I don’t know how I’ll feel about it,” the Spaniard said in an interview for Sky Sport Italia – “But as long as they’re just rumours, I prefer not to talk about it,” he added. “I don’t find it necessary because the person who invented it could be someone who doesn’t understand well. I am calm, I see a calm team and I see a lot of unity within the team. These rumours and criticisms will always be there at Ferrari – it’s been like that for dozens of years. If we do a one-two this weekend, suddenly everything will be forgotten and we move on.” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz explained, ahead of the final round of the 2022 Formula 1 campaign.
