As usual, Thursday, in addition to being the day dedicated to interviews, is also one of the moments in which Formula 1 drivers have the opportunity to take a track walk together with their technicians to inspect the circuit. Unfortunately, the walk confirmed what we saw a few weeks ago during the MotoGP race. The asphalt is rather bumpy and the bumps seem even worse than in 2019.
However, it is one factor that does not seem to worry Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz: “Up to a point, the bumps are part of the game, making the track more difficult and highlighting your driving skill, so although I’m not saying I’m a fan of bumpy tracks, I’m ready to live with it.” – he explained.

The Circuit of the Americas will serve as a further challenge between McLaren and Ferrari in the fight for third place in the 2021 Formula 1 Constructor Standings. A fight that will continue to be very close according to Carlos Sainz:
“We are ready to fight it out with out closest rivals, and I think we will be evenly matched, but we’ll get a clearer idea tomorrow.” – the Spanish driver explained, as reported by the Maranello team’s official social channels – “There are many types of corners. There are 20 in total. There are fast, slow and medium speed ones … There is a bit of everything, in short. I think this will make the weekend quite interesting.”
Finally, to conclude, a comment regarding the fantastic atmosphere that you can live in the USA: “I like everything about the United States; the food, the cities and in recent years, since the TV series about Formula 1 started, there are many more American fans than before,” he said. “And the fact I now drive for Ferrari means I am recognised even more here. It’s another reason why I’m pleased there will be two races in this country next year.” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz concluded.
