Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz remains cautious about the SF-24 aerodynamic updates as he prepares to face the final part of the 2024 Formula One season with the Maranello team.
The Monza circuit delivered a dream race for both the team and the Tifosi, with a result that brought Ferrari back to the top step of the podium in the Italian Grand Prix after five years thanks to Charles Leclerc’s memorabile performance on Sunday afternoon.
However, beyond the triumph, a crucial element was the success of the technical updates, which played a key role. Despite this, Carlos Sainz maintains a cautious attitude, avoiding easy enthusiasm and emphasizing the importance of not taking anything for granted.
The Spaniard prefers to wait for more significant circuits, such as the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, as the next two rounds will take place on street circuits: the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan and the Marina Bay street circuit in Singapore. It was at Marina Bay where Carlos Sainz secured Ferrari’s only victory in the 2023 Formula One championship.
“We need to see how the latest updates perform on other circuits,” said Carlos Sainz, as quoted by the Spanish version of the Motorsport website – “Time will tell if the course of our season will change and if we will now be able to regularly fight for victory, or if we will return to the positions we were in before this race.” – the Ferrari driver concluded, as he prepares for his final races with the Italian side ahead of his move to Williams.
