Tracking the weather conditions ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix starting at 15:00 local time

The weather is proving to be a major factor on race day at the Hungaroring, and the situation continues to evolve. Let’s follow all the key updates in real-time as we build up to the start of the 2025 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, scheduled for 15:00.

[Update at 10:10] – A dry line has now formed along the ideal racing line, but the surface remains slippery outside of it. Drivers will still need to be cautious when going off-line, especially when overtaking or defending.

[Update at 10:00] – The FIA Formula 2 race saw all drivers opting for slick tyres despite the still-slippery track. A rolling start was implemented instead of a traditional standing start due to the low grip levels.

[Update at 09:45] – Current weather forecasts for the Formula 1 race indicate a 15% to 30% chance of rain during the Grand Prix. These shifting probabilities could heavily impact team strategies, especially in terms of tyre choices and pit stop timing.

[Update at 09:30] – The Formula 2 Feature Race is scheduled to begin at 10:00. It will be a crucial session to understand if the track has dried enough to allow consistent running on dry-weather tyres.

[Update at 09:15] – Rain has stopped at the circuit, but the asphalt is drying slowly. It is important to note that the track surface is newly laid this year, and that could cause additional issues. The fresh tarmac may be releasing bitumen and other oily substances, which contributed to tricky conditions during earlier sessions. Several drivers struggled for grip and even experienced slides in the final laps.

[Update at 09:00] – The Formula 3 race has reached the halfway point. From the onboard footage, it is clear that the drivers are still navigating difficult and inconsistent grip levels across the circuit.

[Update at 08:45] – The Safety Car had to return to the track for a second time following a collision between Ugochukwu and Xie, highlighting just how treacherous the conditions remain.

[Update at 08:30] – Good morning, dear readers of ScuderiaFans.com. We will be following the weather situation closely with constant real-time updates throughout the morning as we approach the Formula 1 race, which is set to begin at 15:00.
At this moment, rain is falling at the Hungaroring.

The Formula 3 race began behind the Safety Car due to a wet track, with all drivers starting on full wet tyres. After the rolling start, the Safety Car was called out again following an incident that took Kevin Benavides out of the race after contact with Roman Bilinski.
