Team reshuffle
On the eve of the home event at the Imola circuit, Scuderia Ferrari officially announced the decision to replace Xavi Marcos with Bryan Bozzi as Charles Leclerc’s race engineer. The Monegasque driver later explained in Thursday’s press conference ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix that he was not involved in the team’s decision, but he has a solid relationship with the Italian engineer.
It was also revealed that the German Johannes Hatz had been promoted to Charles Leclerc’s performance engineer, filling the position on the pit wall vacated by Bryan Bozzi. In summary, Imola was the first test of these changes, and it can be said that Charles Leclerc’s weekend went smoothly, with a third place in the qualifying session and in the race, which seemed the best possible result for this SF-24.
Charles Leclerc’s perspective
Charles Leclerc himself analyzed the new additions to his team: “Bryan Bozzi did very well. Changing is always very difficult, especially mid-season, and he had to get used to many new things. There was also Johannes on the pit wall, my performance engineer. We can say that there were two new people in my team and, despite some initial difficulties, they did an incredible job and things went very well. Now we will work further and try to improve, but it was really a good start.” – the Monegasque driver concluded at the end of the Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend.
