Birelart has officially presented its new kart line developed in collaboration with Rubens Barrichello. The Barrichello by Birelart range makes its debut by combining Birelart’s technological expertise and tradition with the Brazilian former Formula 1 driver’s long-standing and well-known passion for karting.
Passion and innovation are the two key concepts that brought together the Lissone-based manufacturer and the former F1 driver for this new project. The Barrichello brand is the latest addition to Birelart’s portfolio, joining other successful lines associated with top drivers like Robert Kubica, Daniel Ricciardo and Charles Leclerc.
In fact, the Barrichello brand already made its on-track debut during the recent Rotax Grand Final held in Bahrain last December, where it equipped the entire DD2 Masters category. Rubens Barrichello himself took part in the race, once again proving to be among the most competitive drivers on track.
The relationship between Birelart and the Brazilian driver is deeply rooted and spans many years. Barrichello has regularly taken part in major karting events, particularly within the Rotax world, but not exclusively. One notable example was the FIA Karting KZ World Championship in Kristianstad in 2016, where Rubens competed with Birelart from qualifying through to the final.
The Barrichello by Birelart range will cover all major karting categories, with chassis options available for the OK classes (RB 30/32 S19 DD), KZ (RB 30/32 S19 SH) and Mini Kart (RB 28 S19).
The brand will be instantly recognisable thanks to a livery inspired by Rubens Barrichello’s iconic helmet design. Fluorescent orange and metallic blue are combined with white, creating an immediate sense of freshness and speed on track. All of this is built on the proven quality of materials and Birelart’s S19 chassis technology.
