The promoters of the legendary Ardennes event have introduced a cutting-edge tool designed to simplify how fans experience Formula 1.
The Belgian GP has announced the rollout of an AI assistant developed by Napster, engineered to support and guide fans as they purchase tickets for the F1 race at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. This conversational tool, nicknamed “Jack,” represents a true first in the motorsport world, serving as a free personal concierge for race-goers.
Spa Grand Prix, the event promoter, decided to implement Jack to streamline both the ticket-buying process and the planning of accommodation, camping, parking, and other logistics for the mid-July race. Jack can converse in over 60 languages, making it perfectly tailored to an incredibly diverse audience—ranging from newcomers unfamiliar with the available options to veteran Formula 1 fans with specific budgets and requirements. In 2025, the Belgian GP drew a massive crowd of 389,000 fans representing more than 150 countries.
Vanessa Maes, CEO of Spa Grand Prix, stated: “With Jack, the goal is to help customers find exactly what they want, because we have a huge variety of options and sometimes it is quite difficult for them to find their way around.”
Features and practical demonstration
During a live demonstration for Sports Business Journal, François Ribeiro, CEO of Napster Europe, showed how naturally Jack operates, mimicking the approach of a human salesperson. The AI does not rely on rigid scripts. Instead, it interprets specific requests (like grandstands versus VIP hospitality) as well as subjective preferences—like recommending a “lively” grandstand to capture the vibrant Formula 1 atmosphere for a new fan, while respecting practical constraints like proximity to the fan zone or walking distances.
Jack can pull up 360-degree view galleries to showcase the exact perspective from every single seat, while also detailing parking proximity and shuttle frequencies. Given that the 7-kilometer Spa circuit features 30 different grandstands scattered across its vast layout, this is a massive benefit. Ribeiro emphasized: “It works exactly the way our sales people sell a ticket. The variety of combinations is just insane in F1, and the AI agent is there to make the experience, the choice, and the presentation of the different options as seamless as possible.”
Julien Lalmand, project manager at Spa Grand Prix, explained that roughly 80% of customer service inquiries are repetitive. By deploying AI, human staff can shift their focus toward complex or highly specific requests. Lalmand added: “We can really focus on solving those issues rather than spending too much time on generic solutions, which Jack will be able to handle.”
A crucial factor during the development phase was ensuring the interaction remained genuinely useful and natural. Lalmand specified: “We wanted the AI to serve a real purpose for the customer and not just for us. It is about the right balance: it will certainly help us, but not at the customer’s expense.”
Technical integration and privacy
Napster designed Jack as an overlay for the existing website, meaning it required no sweeping structural overhauls and integrated smoothly via available APIs. The ultimate goal is to encourage direct purchases through the official channel by offering a seamless, free experience without demanding extra customer data. Furthermore, the system is fully GDPR compliant.
Napster, which was acquired in early 2025 by Infinite Reality for $207 million, has pivoted away from its historic music streaming roots to focus squarely on enterprise AI business solutions. Jack was officially unveiled on stage at the Microsoft Build conference in San Francisco, leveraging Microsoft’s robust Azure infrastructure.
