Bahrain F1 Test Day 1: morning session results
Leclerc fastest with Ferrari
Charles Leclerc set the pace in this morning’s Bahrain F1 test, coming just a few thousandths short of the best time recorded last Friday by Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The Ferrari driver posted his lap on prototype tires, while Lando Norris finished three-tenths off the Monegasque, and Antonelli was third, four-tenths behind.
The Mercedes driver showed impressive speed and consistency over race pace. Leclerc was slightly slower than Antonelli but remained consistent, suggesting he may have been carrying more fuel. It was a challenging morning for Red Bull and Aston Martin, both affected by power unit-related reliability issues. Cadillac also faced difficulties, but Sergio Perez managed to get on track in the second half of the session. The driver with the most laps completed was Arvid Lindblad with Racing Bulls.
That concludes our coverage of this morning’s testing action. Thank you for following along with ScuderiaFans.com. Don’t miss the afternoon session report starting at 13:00 local time.
