Atletico Madrid officially enters the Formula 1 circus with a five-year partnership. The club announced a collaboration with IFEMA Madrid, the organizer of the new Madrid Grand Prix, set to take place for the first time in September 2026 on the city street circuit of the Spanish capital. Through a joint statement shared on their social media channels, Atletico and IFEMA revealed the details of the agreement. The club will serve as the main “Local Event Supporter” for the race weekend, which will run from September 11 to 13 next year.
The opening concert will take place at the stadium
One of the highlights of the agreement involves the Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid’s stadium, which will become a key location for the event. The venue will host the opening concert of the weekend and offer a wide range of services for fans and attendees of the Grand Prix. Dedicated hospitality areas, food and beverage points, and direct shuttle connections to the circuit will be set up, turning the entire experience into a celebration of both sport and Madrid’s culture.
Atletico Madrid to have an exclusive paddock area
In return, the club will receive an exclusive hospitality area in the F1 paddock, where members, sponsors, and partners can experience Formula 1 in a space inspired by Atletico Madrid’s style and values. Here, sports, excitement, and entertainment will combine to offer a high-profile, immersive experience perfectly aligned with the club’s identity. Through this partnership, Atletico Madrid strengthens its presence on the international sports stage, associating the club’s name with one of the most followed sporting events in the world. At the same time, IFEMA Madrid confirms its ambition to make the Madrid GP not only a sporting event but also a cultural and social celebration, engaging the entire city.
