Argentina’s Formula 1 return project has taken another visible step forward, with a new social media account launched to provide updates on the work surrounding the proposed Buenos Aires circuit. The initiative, called “Fórmula 1 Ciudad de Buenos Aires”, is aimed at bringing F1 back to Argentina after years away from the championship.
The ambitious project seeks to revive a long-standing motorsport tradition in a country that has previously hosted Formula 1 Grands Prix, while making use of the sporting and infrastructure potential available in Buenos Aires. The latest development adds another element to the wider push to bring Formula 1 back to Argentina.
Argentina F1 return project opens dedicated social media channel
A dedicated Instagram account has now been opened to provide a steady flow of information about the project. It is expected to publish news, images and further updates relating to the layout being developed for Buenos Aires as work on the proposal continues.
The first post offered a deliberately understated message: “We didn’t make any noise. We’re working. The City of Buenos Aires has something underway. You’ll hear about it here first. Follow us.”
The message was accompanied by an image showing the long hairpin, while Turns 8 and 9 could also be seen in the upper-right section of the render. The layout appears to have been reworked compared with previous versions, indicating that the design remains under development rather than being treated as a finished proposal.
Updated Buenos Aires circuit layout shows project still evolving
The proposed circuit incorporates modern elements while being designed around the characteristics and infrastructure of Buenos Aires, with the objective of creating a venue capable of meeting contemporary Formula 1 requirements.
The newly released image highlights updated details that distinguish the latest version from earlier concepts, reinforcing the impression that design work remains active. The decision to present a revised render also underlines an approach focused on refining the technical characteristics of the track rather than making premature announcements.
That process forms part of the broader work already taking place around the Buenos Aires venue, where circuit renovation work has fuelled hopes of an eventual Formula 1 comeback.
Buenos Aires looks to revive Argentina’s Formula 1 tradition
The interest surrounding the initiative reflects a desire to recover an important part of Argentina’s motorsport heritage. Buenos Aires is being presented as a location capable of hosting an event of Formula 1’s scale, with attention centred on the technical and organisational requirements needed to turn the idea into a realistic project.
The communications surrounding the proposal have repeatedly stressed that work is progressing without excessive publicity. Instead, the emphasis is on developing the necessary foundations and resolving the practical aspects required before a possible place on the international Formula 1 calendar can become a reality.
For Argentina, a return would also revive a Grand Prix tradition stretching back decades. Ferrari has played its own part in that history, including memorable appearances by drivers such as Carlos Reutemann at his home Argentine Grand Prix.
Further updates expected as Argentina pursues an F1 comeback
Additional information about the circuit, facilities and timetable is expected to be shared through the same social media channel as the proposal develops. For followers of the project, it is intended to become a central point for tracking progress towards a potential Formula 1 return.
The initiative remains in development, so an Argentine Grand Prix comeback is not yet confirmed. However, the release of updated images and official communications represents another concrete step in the process of positioning Buenos Aires for a possible return to the Formula 1 calendar.
For a country with a deep connection to international motorsport, the project offers the prospect of restoring Argentina to the Formula 1 landscape while also creating wider opportunities for the local motorsport sector if the plans ultimately come to fruition.
