Italian professional racing driver and paracyclist Alex Zanardi is confident that Scuderia Ferrari’s German driver Sebastian Vettel can win the Formula 1 world title this season, after a very good start to the championship, as Sebastian managed to win three out of the first six rounds in 2017:
“There is no need to have a crystal ball in order to see that Vettel is in the fight for the title and that his main objective for this season is to win the Formula One championship. Sebastian has the lead in the standings, a good 25-point advantage over Lewis Hamilton, so for me it seems normal to say that he is the favourite to win the title this year.” – the former Formula 1 driver said, as reported by Sport Mediaset on Wednesday – “I think that after such an important recovery Ferrari has to be very happy with the current situation, because no one would have ever predicted what we are seeing, but everybody at Maranello should not stop here, they have to continue to work hard because Mercedes will keep fighting to the end. There is an entire organization behind Ferrari that has a crazy hunger for victories and of course as an Italian I wish them all the best.” – Alex Zanardi added.
The 50-year-old former Formula 1 driver, who suffered a crash in 2001 that resulted in the amputation of his legs, then expressed his satisfaction for the fact that Robert Kubica returned to Renault F1 in order to take part in a private test, where the team revealed he “had the biggest smile on after his 115 laps”:
“I read that he has done more than 100 laps without any problems, so a return to Formula 1 seems to be possible. And as far as I am concerned it is not a coincidance that Renault gave him this opportunity to drive the car. I wish him a return to Formula 1 because he is a very good driver, a very nice person and for him it would be a great story of success.” – Alex Zanardi concluded, as reported by Sport Mediaset.
