Adrian Newey in Ferrari, this is the scenario that has been dominating the headlines for days, and fans of the prancing horse are hoping it will soon become a reality. The British engineer has officially announced his departure from Red Bull, with the separation set to occur in the spring of 2025.
Speaking publicly for the first time about his decision, the 65-year-old from Colchester did not want to reveal too much, stating he wanted to take some time to dedicate to his family before thinking about a final adventure in Formula 1.
Adrian Newey rules out Aston Martin, confirmation on Ferrari
Speaking to the microphones of Sky Sport, Craig Slater, a well-known British journalist, provided an update on the status of the negotiations between Adrian Newey and Scuderia Ferrari, waiting to understand when and if the designer will make a decision: “Ferrari is the most likely place.”
“I’ve spoken to about a dozen people who know Adrian quite well and with people connected to Ferrari, and everyone thinks there is a real possibility that this will happen. Adrian, as far as I know, has not yet decided what to do.” – he pointed out.

On the eve of the Miami Grand Prix weekend, a rumor emerged that Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur had stopped in London before heading to Florida specifically to finalize the last details of the deal: “I know there has been a meeting. I cannot confirm that it was with Fred Vasseur, but Adrian met a Ferrari representative in London to discuss a possible involvement. However, we are still in the early stages.”
The option of Aston Martin seems to be definitively ruled out, as confirmed by Craig Slater himself: “Many people know where he’s not going. 30 people are ready to tell me it’s not Aston Martin, it doesn’t fit him.”
“Perhaps because of the nature of the dynamics. It’s Lawrence Stroll’s project, maybe it doesn’t even have the historical charm that appeals to him at this point in his career. In sporting terms, there’s nothing better than bringing Ferrari back to the title, if that’s what he manages to do.” – he concluded.
