Adrian Newey will stay in England after joining Aston Martin starting in 2025. The brilliant British designer will not change residence (he has worked in England for Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull) and now chases the World Championship with Lawrence Stroll’s team, which represents a challenge reminiscent of Red Bull’s 20 years ago.

Since Adrian Newey announced his departure from Red Bull, he has been contacted by several teams. And naturally, as we reported, Ferrari was leading the race to secure the Briton. However, pole position needs to be converted into victory, and the deal did not go through. Still, even in today’s press conference, the legendary car designer did not deny the fascination that Ferrari continues to exert on him: “After Ferrari, Aston Martin is the biggest brand in the world.” – he admitted.
During the media meeting, Adrian Newey explained how he was flattered by the interest from other teams but considered Aston Martin a natural destination. In this regard, the visit to the team’s Silverstone headquarters, organized by Lawrence Stroll, was a masterstroke for the Canadian.
“The building is clearly impressive. It has a fantastic atmosphere, and I think it is a true demonstration of Lawrence’s commitment to where he wants the team to go. I don’t know how much it costs, but it certainly wasn’t cheap. I’ll find other ways to make him spend money within the budget cap,” Adrian Newey joked. “If I had to describe Lawrence in one sentence, I think one thing that always comes to mind is that he has absolute conviction and direction, and he’s happy to put all his chips on one goal.”
