Alfa Romeo Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi has hailed Kimi Raikkonen’s contribution to his and and the team’s progress in 2019. Giovinazzi stepped up to Formula 1 full-time in 2019 off the back of spending two years undertaking test/reserve roles with Ferrari, Haas and Sauber. The Italian entered 2019 with two grand prix starts under his belt, compared to almost 300 amassed by 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, who has been in the sport since 2001.
In an interview for Sky Sport Italy, Antonio Giovinazzi spoke about having Kimi as a teammate and thanked the Finnish driver for helping him during a difficult period last season:

“Kimi was the best teammate I could have had in my first Formula One year, because he is not a political person and he helps you a lot, being a world champion with so much experience. Every time I went to him, because he is not the type of person who comes to you, he is not the type of person who talks a lot, but each time I went to him and I asked him something, he always answered me, he always helped me, therefore I have to give Kimi a big thank you, because with his help I improved a lot in this season and I am very happy to be able to continue with Alfa Romeo alongside him for the next season.” – Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi said for Sky Sport:
