The 24h of Le Mans will already start with a penalty for two Ferrari cars in the Hypercar Class.
At the end of Qualifying held at the Circuit de la Sarthe during dinner time, the 499P #51 and #83 were caught in violation by the stewards.
The infraction concerns the incorrect positioning in the designated area for cars at the end of the session, resulting in a 10-second penalty that the two LMH cars from Maranello will have to serve at their first pit stop during the race.
“After reviewing video evidence, the Stewards determined that the car did not stop correctly in the designated stopping area,” the statement reads.
“According to Art. 12.3.4 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 7.4.6 of the FIA WEC 2024 Sporting Regulations, this decision is not subject to appeal.”
