The pre-season F1 testing in Barcelona has concluded, and we can now look at the complete standings, including the fastest laps from Ferrari, Mercedes, and all other teams. The squads made full use of the five days of testing organized in Spain. In a highly secretive environment, where only a few verifiable pieces of information leaked from the paddock, we can now see which drivers set the quickest laps.
The final chequered flag of the week waved over Barcelona, marking the conclusion of the first collective shakedown of the next-generation cars. This new F1 technical cycle was inaugurated with cars already remarkably reliable and, above all, fast. Many manufacturers completed significant mileage, with Mercedes and Ferrari standing out among them.
As repeatedly highlighted over the week, pure performance was never the main focus for the teams. Engineers concentrated on learning the new systems, leaving very little room for perfect setup or outright lap times. It is also important to note that no official timing data has been released by the F1 organization itself; all timed laps were collected by SoyMotor.com.
Complete test standings: Mercedes leads, McLaren and Ferrari close behind
With these considerations in mind, here are the standings. At the top is Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton setting the fastest lap of the week on the fourth and final testing day. This puts him ahead of Mercedes and McLaren, with the Brackley-based team having already completed its program on Thursday. Naturally, both Williams cars are missing from this list; the Grove team will compete as usual in Bahrain.
