The 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying sessions, among the most thrilling of the season, ended with an intense battle between the three World Championship contenders. Max Verstappen came out on top, securing pole position with a lap of 1:22.207, narrowly beating Lando Norris by 201 thousandths of a second and Oscar Piastri by 230 thousandths.
The Dutchman secured the best starting spot for tomorrow’s race, but for the two McLaren drivers, a clean race finish could still decide the championship. Norris needs to finish third to claim the title. It will be interesting to see what strategies the McLaren team will deploy. George Russell finished fourth in Q3, once again demonstrating his excellent form, while Charles Leclerc managed to put the SF-25 in fifth position despite significant rear-end issues during the last few sessions.
George Russell and Charles Leclerc proved, in this final championship round, that they have an extra gear compared to their teammates. Andrea Kimi Antonelli was eliminated in Q2, while Lewis Hamilton failed to make it past Q1 once again.
Provisional starting grid for the 2025 Abu Dhabi GP (14:00 CET)
No penalties were assigned to drivers in Abu Dhabi, so the starting grid can currently be set according to the exact qualifying results. The final race of the season will start tomorrow afternoon, December 7, at Yas Marina Circuit at 14:00 Italian time.

Why is it called a provisional grid? Teams’ engineers may still encounter car issues before the race. If a component replacement becomes necessary due to regulatory constraints, the FIA could demote the driver in question by several positions on the starting grid.
P.S.: You can always find the updated standings on our website at the end of each session.
