The time has come to rev up the engines for the 2024 Formula 1 season. Tomorrow, testing kicks off in Bahrain, with the driver lineups finalized to test the new single-seaters.
Track activities will commence tomorrow morning at 8 AM Italian time at the Bahrain Circuit, the season’s opening venue for the past two years. The schedule for the teams will be intense, with comparative tests and simulator comparisons to thoroughly understand the new single-seaters. Two teams will be closely watched, with Ferrari and Mercedes engaged in assessing the performance of their respective SF-24 and W15. Let’s take a look at the driver lineups set to hit the track over the three days of testing in Bahrain.
The testing program will see cars on the track for seven and a half hours, 30 minutes less than last year. The green light will turn on tomorrow morning at 8 AM for four hours until 12 PM, then resume from 1 PM to 5 PM after a one-hour lunch break.
Haas was the first to announce the driver lineup, with Magnussen and Hulkenberg taking turns behind the wheel of the VF-24. Kevin Magnussen will be the first on the track for the initial four hours on Wednesday, followed by Nico Hulkenberg in the afternoon. The lineup will be reversed for Thursday, with the German in the morning and the Dane in the afternoon, while on Friday, the Italian-American team will return to the Wednesday lineup.
