Max Verstappen was ninth at the end of Friday but hits back to take a 0.2s advantage over Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton into a crucial qualifying session, as the Red Bull driver has topped every P3 session in the 2021 Formula 1 season.

The light went green for final practice but it took five minutes before Spain’s Fernando Alonso decided to break the silence. The Alpine driver clocked a 1:21.020 as the session’s first time.

For Ferrari there was some positive feedback from the last free practice session for the 2021 Spanish Grand Prix, despite the fact that both drivers were not 100% happy with their fastest lap at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc confirmed the good impressions fro yesterday, one again finishing in third place, with a very good lap time of 1:18.308, while Carlos Sainz also improved today, coming close to Charles lap time (1:18.410 for the Spanish driver) in what looks like a tight battle behind Mercedes and Red Bull. Carlos Sainz was therefore fourth ahead of Bottas and Norris.
