The 2019 Formula One calendar has been released, while the pre-season test dates have also now been confirmed.
Following a meeting of the World Motorsport Council last week, the FIA have released the planned schedule for the 2019 season. Kicking off in Australia, there are no particularly noticeable changes from the 2018 calendar, although there is now no planned triple header.
After much delay, the 2019 pre-season test dates have also been confirmed. Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will hold eight days of testing over two weeks, as has been the norm in recent years. There had been discussions to move testing, possibly to Bahrain like in 2014, but there was no support from the teams for such a move. Testing will take place from February 18th to 21st and from February 26th to March 1st in 2019.
