The Brazilian Grand Prix certainly is a special occasion on the motorsport calendar, not least because of the Senna era and the fanatic fans turning Sao Paulo at Interlagos into a festival and carnival atmosphere for the F1 weekend.
Sao Paulo is known colloquially as the ‘Terra da Garoa’, or ‘the land of drizzle’ Interlagos was built on marshland between two lakes. Hence the name ‘Interlagos’, which translates into English as ‘between the lakes’.
Ferrari has won the Brazilian Grand Prix 11 times, and will be looking to match McLaren’s winning recordin Sao Paulo.
