Scuderia Ferrari’s run of misfortune at the last three races has unfortunately turned what was looking set to be a genuine nail-biter into something of a formality for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. To paraphrase the famous words of poet Roberts Burns, ‘the best laid plans of mice and men go often askew’. Never has a truer sentence been uttered in reference to Ferrari’s technical nightmares in the Far East. Before Asia, there was a very real prospect – indeed and expectation – that their number one man at the wheel Sebastian Vettel would be carrying a handsome lead into the Americas’ GP triple.
Regardless of what happened in the last three events, Scuderia Ferrari has to fight to the very end in order to finish the season strong and prepare the 2018 Formula One championship in the best possible way.
