This is the ninth Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit. The track is a stunning venue for Formula 1, having cost £800m to build and it has several unique features. The pitlane exit passes underneath the track, the pit garages are air-conditioned and the circuit has the largest permanent lighting system in the world. This is the sixth time that Yas Marina has hosted F1’s season finale.
It is one of only five anti-clockwise tracks on the calendar and it has three very distinct sectors, with some fast corners in Sector One, long straights in Sector Two and a slower final section. But what makes this race special is the fact that it’s F1’s only twilight race; it starts in daylight and finishes in the dark.
Follow us for the latest updates and results from the Yas Marina Circuit as the second practice session ahead of the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place this afternoon, with Scuderia Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen at the wheel of the SF70H.
