On 15th June 2003, the Canadian Grand Prix was run in Montreal. Williams dominated qualifying, locking out the front row courtesy of Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya. Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were third and fifth respectively in the F2003-GA.
In the race, Ralf went off in the lead and on lap 2, Montoya made an mistake, spinning and dropping down the order. Michael tried to keep up with his brother but the Williams looked hard to catch. The only way to possibly win would be to get ahead in the pit stops. Scuderia Ferrari did just that and when Michael came out of pit lane, he was leading. However, Ralf closed on his brother and looked threatening. However, he never put a passing move on him and so Michael won ahead of the Williams duo to take his 68th win, the 163rd for Ferrari. Victory also promoted the Maranello man to the top of the standings, as previous leader Kimi Raikkonen in the McLaren finished down in sixth place.
