The real 1962 Ferrari F1 was truly a remarkable race car. The overall design of the car gave one the impression it was moving, despite the fact, it was standing still. A very loud engine with twin exhaust, the car won numerous racing events. However, like many earlier Formula 1 race cars of this period of time, speed, not safety, was the order of the day. We lost many great drivers because of the very poor safety standards of the day. Not only the cars, but the tracks as well. Still, for many fans, this was their favorite period of racing. The drivers, the cars, the tracks and the beautiful women. Drivers rarely ever went to a wreck unless it was to try a save a friend.
