This video was recorded during the 2018 Historic Minardi and shows an icon from the Formula 1 “Turbo Era”: the Ferrari 126 C4. Two of them were at the event but only one spent time on the track.
Built as an evolution of the 1983 126 C3, six C4s chassis were built during the 1984 season, ranging from numbers 126-071 to 126-076. The two in this video are chassis 073 (on the right at the beginning of the video) and 074 (the one on the left).
The 126 C4 was only able to score only a win during the Zolder GP and other 7 podium finishes conquering the second place in the constructors’ championship. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that was able to produce around 660hp at 11,600 rpm for race use.
