Red Bull Ring, here comes the gravel
The controversies that arose after the 2023 edition of the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix should now be a distant memory. In order to resolve the track limits problem that disrupted last year’s race results, the organizers of the Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring have placed gravel traps at the exit of the track’s last two corners.
Gravel is the solution that best combines simplicity and efficiency: last year we anticipated this direction, and this weekend we will finally see the return of the gravel traps removed starting with the 2003 edition.
In the photos published by the Polish colleagues from Parc Fermé, you can see the gravel already placed outside the curbs of turn 9 and turn 10.

Chaos in 2023 Austrian Grand Prix
Last year, track limits were a highly discussed topic that forced the stewards to review over 1200 cases until late in the evening, revolutionizing the final standings with post-GP penalties for Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Yuki Tsunoda, de Vries, Albon, and Sargeant.
