“Four wheels on the ground”
“Feet on the ground” was one of the mantras of Maurizio Arrivabene during his time as team principal at Ferrari, which began in late 2014 and ended before the start of the 2019 Formula 1 season. The CEO of the Maranello commpany, Benedetto Vigna, rephrased this expression while emphasizing the same concept as a guest at the Sustainable Future Forum by ClassNBC: “We need to keep four wheels firmly on the ground and be aware that life is like a circuit, it’s not a straight line. If you come into a corner too fast, you risk crashing. We are happy with the work we are doing and we must continue to grow and improve, this is true today and will be true tomorrow.” – he pointed out.
Benedetto Vigna also commented on the upcoming arrival of Lewis Hamilton to Maranello starting with the 2025 Formula 1 championship: “Lewis will bring to us what is written in our DNA, what our founder often said (Enzo Ferrari used to emphasize that ‘the most important success is the one I have yet to achieve’), a will for continuous progress that is fundamental for a company, for a team, in order to continue being successful in the future. For Ferrari, having a racing soul within is crucial. When things are going well within a company, people forget that things can change. Having someone like Lewis in-house helps us remember that things can change and that we must always be on the alert. If you enter a corner too fast, you can spin out, so four wheels firmly on the ground.” – the Ferrari chief executive officer reiterated.
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a multi-year agreement with Scuderia Ferrari and thus will drive both the car that will close this technical cycle in 2025 and the completely new one in 2026, concerning both the power unit and the revised dimensions and weight.
