The Sochi Autodrom is as a street circuit which evolved out of a park built for the 2014 Winter Olympics, lying near Russia’s Black Sea and within the Sochi resort. The Russian Grand Prix’s lap contains the highlight of a sweeping 750m left-hander at Turn 3. A track that favours power, until you get to the tricky and twisty final sector.
2021 Russian Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Info Sochi):
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, especially given the fact that this time Sochi does not seem to be a straightforward weekend, at least for Friday and Saturday. Conditions appear uncertain ahead of the 2021 Russian Grand Prix weekend: the free practice sessions and especially the qualifying session on Saturday could take place in wet conditions if we look at the current predictions, while for Sunday some more sunshine is expected and the chance of rain is lower. The temperature for race day is expected to drop by about 20-21 degree and the main event on Sunday should take place in dry conditions at the Sochi Autodrom:
