At Monza, Ferrari displayed impressive strength, securing the pole position with Carlos Sainz and clinching third place with Charles Leclerc. Their thorough preparation was evident as they impressively ran full fuel loads on both Friday and Saturday, showcasing excellent straight-line speed and highly effective DRS usage. The Italian Grand Prix saw Sainz leading for 14 laps, delighting the capacity crowd.
However, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, leveraging his car’s exceptional aerodynamic efficiency, capitalized on DRS to make a decisive move. On lap 15, at the second chicane, he executed a daring overtake on the Ferrari, seizing a lead that he would convert into a dominant victory, marking his 12th win of the season and an unprecedented tenth consecutive triumph.
Sergio Perez completed the one-two finish for Red Bull, while Ferrari achieved their best result of the season with a third-fourth finish. Mercedes secured the fifth and sixth positions, and Alex Albon of Williams led the other customer Mercedes teams.
