With Red Bull’s Max Verstappen starting P15 in Saudi Arabia there was all to play for at the front. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso seized an initial lead – then Max Verstappen’s team-mate, Sergio Perez, took over. The World Champion, meanwhile, was clinically driving through the field at the Jeddah Corniche circuit. Then a Safety Car bunched them and made things even more difficult for Scuderia Ferrari, on what was clearly already a poor afternoon in Saudi Arabia. Suddenly, Max was up to P2 and applying pressure on Perez.
