We have officially entered the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, at the temple of speed, which represents a crossroads for the Brianza circuit. After months of work, the racetrack is ready to once again host F1 cars, with its continued presence in the calendar yet to be determined. Formula 1 chief executive officer Stefano Domenicali spoke about this in this morning’s conference, with Monza engaged in the pursuit of renewal.
“It doesn’t even feel like I’m in Monza,” Stefano Domenicali commented sarcastically about the work done at Monza, “but it’s nice because it shows the will to continue.”
“This gives the idea of the commitment that everyone must make because Monza cannot not be at the center of Formula 1’s future. We will have days and will use these days precisely to fine-tune a program that must continue. Because I have to congratulate them on what has been done—it is certainly very beautiful and functional. Now we have to face the second phase to make the structures suitable for those who enjoy this show.” – the Italian manager pointed out.
“So we will work diligently to ensure that Monza remains in the future. The commitments that were made have been respected, and now we will tackle the second phase with everyone: the mayor, the region, the ministers, and the competent authorities. We are all here to grow our sport, to grow this community, to grow our country. I believe that there have been important indications of what a Formula 1 Grand Prix means in a territory.” – the former Ferrari team principal added.
Sticchi Damiani’s response on the renewal possibilities after completing the technical renovation of the track was not lacking.
“We have done the important part, the technical part, now all that remains is everything concerning the improvement of the offer. We already have a program, we will present it at the technical table on September 9th. Well, the moment we present it, the moment the conference on the 10th will definitively express the first value, is a very important time. The faster the program is approved, the more we will be in a position to carry out these works, not only for 2026 but with an even greater challenge: completing them by July 2025.” – the President of the Automobile Club of Italy concluded.
