Already sought after in 2023, the current technical director of Red Bull would now be tempted by Ferrari: thus, the Prancing Horse attempts the Waché move.
Relentless and unbeatable, the Milton Keynes team left no one untouched in the past season. Unbeatable on the track and solid off it — except for some clumsy incidents with Sergio Perez — Red Bull seemed to be the least likely team for upheavals.
Then came the unexpected “earthquake.” Like a flash, in the week of Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, the news exploded: Christian Horner investigated by the company for “inappropriate behavior.”
With the inevitably arrived instability at the English headquarters, some voices have gained more and more ground. With Christian Horner uncertain about staying at the helm, the Red Bull organizational chart could be revolutionized, also due to the pressure from rivals who would like to take advantage of the moment to snatch high-ranking personnel from the champions.
This is the case with Ferrari. Fred Vasseur has been shaping the team since last year, and the signing of Lewis Hamilton for 2025 is a statement of intent to rivals. The Prancing Horse-Sir Lewis duo can attract great figures, and the first speculations have turned to Adrian Newey, but the operation does not seem easy.

Pierre Waché and Ferrari: a rekindled flame?
In addition to Adrian Newey, Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport takes a more confident tone talking about another Red Bull engineer courted by Ferrari.
We are talking about the current technical director of the Anglo-Austrian team, Pierre Waché: “The red team could have already scored another coup. It would be the hiring of Pierre Waché, Adrian Newey‘s right-hand man, whom Ferrari had already sounded out last year, receiving a refusal.”
The 49-year-old Frenchman was already sought after by Maranello’s top brass in 2023, but the response was not positive. Today, the situation for Ferrari would have changed: “Now, Waché would be seriously considering the idea of accepting.”
Not only Pierre Waché, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, there would also be an attempt to sign Enrico Balbo, the leader of the aerodynamics department. But this seems like a less possible move.
