Formula 1 official tyre supplier Pirelli have confirmed which tyres they will be bringing to the first eight races of the 2020 F1 championship. The season will begin at the Red Bull Ring in Austria from July 3-5, before a second round at the Red Bull-owned track on the following weekend.
From there Formula 1 will head to the Hungaroring in Hungary, before two rounds at Silverstone.
The Spanish, Belgian and Italian GPs then complete the European phase of the reworked 2020 calendar. Pirelli will bring the C2, C3 and C4 tyres for both rounds in Austria.
The first race will be called the Austrian Grand Prix, while the second round has been named the Styrian Grand Prix. It will be the same compounds for Round 3 in Hungary, before a switch to the C1, C2 and C3s for the British Grand Prix. The Formula 1 70th Anniversary Grand Prix that follows, also at Silverstone, will have another twist as the compounds then switch to C2, C3 and C4.
It’s back to the hardest rubber for the Spanish Grand Prix with the C1, C2 and C3s needed for the demanding Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
And finally it will be back to C2, C3 and C4s for the last two rounds confirmed so far at Spa and Monza respectively.
