Oliver Bearman achieved a feat in his first Formula 1 GP in Saudi Arabia: driving the Ferrari SF-24, the 18-year-old finished in P7, and the end-of-race team radio was a mix of emotion and composure.
At the end of the Saudi race, the young talent from the Ferrari academy secured seventh place. The Grand Prix was tough and exhausting, the city circuit of Jeddah does not allow the slightest mistake, as seen in Stroll’s accident.
Yet, the Briton, catapulted from F2 into the Prancing Horse’s car, did not look out of place at all. On the contrary, Oliver Bearman displayed rare talent, enduring a circuit full of pitfalls and flexing his muscles in several overtakes.
Starting from eleventh position on the grid, the 18-year-old Ferrari driver climbed up to the seventh spot. In the final laps, the Englishman withstood the pressure from the approaching compatriots Norris and Hamilton, finishing with a memorable result under the checkered flag.
At the end of the race, Ollie Bearman also showed a certain coolness, not letting the emotion overwhelm him. The young driver’s eyes were tried from the grueling race, but Bearman immediately showed analytical ability and coolness.
The first congratulations came from Riccardo Adami, the track engineer for the occasion: “P7, P7. Great job!”
Then the team principal intervened. Fred Vasseur affectionately exclaimed on the radio: “Good job, lad, congratulations!”

After some instructions on the car’s mode, Oliver Bearman did not want to show too much emotion: “I would have liked to extend the stint on the softs a bit longer,” he analyzed, given the increased difficulty of overtaking on the hards.
Then the thanks: “The car was great today, thanks guys, I really enjoyed it!”
