Max Verstappen clinches the pole position in the F1 qualifying at Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Here’s a summary and the results of the qualifying session.
A qualifying session where Red Bull once again demonstrated its dominance, even more so than in Bahrain. Max Verstappen secured the top spot with an incredible lap. Here’s the summary and results of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix qualifying session in Jeddah for F1!
**Q1**
After the initial ten minutes, most drivers completed a double fast lap interspersed with a cool-down lap, except for Red Bull and Racing Bulls. Verstappen leads the pack ahead of Leclerc and Alonso, followed by Piastri and Perez within 270 milliseconds.
Sixth is Norris ahead of Bearman, then Magnussen, Albon, and Stroll complete the Top 10. Hulkenberg, Ricciardo, and Tsunoda precede the two Mercedes drivers, who, however, used medium tires. Excluded so far are Gasly, Sargeant, Bottas, and Ocon along with Zhou, who still has no time.
Leclerc temporarily takes the lead with used tires, Hulkenberg moves into tenth, and Bottas rises to fourteenth, while Sargeant remains eighteenth. Perez climbs to third, while Verstappen regains the lead with a 147-millisecond advantage. Tsunoda is ninth, and Stroll flies to second place! Zhou takes the flag without setting a time despite the incredible work of the mechanics to repair his C44.
Excluded at the end of Q1: Bottas, Ocon, Gasly, Sargeant, Zhou.
**Q2**
The second phase of this qualifying begins with a technical problem for Hulkenberg, stopped in the escape route: a red flag after a couple of minutes. Leclerc failed to set a time for a few hundred meters: the marshals displayed the red flag before he crossed the finish line but after he had already passed the pit lane entry line. At the moment, Russell, Norris, Hamilton, and Piastri have a time, while Albon, Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Racing Bulls were still in the pits.

First time again for Verstappen with Alonso at 44 milliseconds and Charles Leclerc at 101. Perez is four-tenths adrift, then Stroll, Russell, Norris, and Tsunoda ahead of Hamilton. Piastri, the last of the qualifiers, makes some mistakes and decides to abort the lap and return to the pits.
Among the drivers who improve in the last attempt, Charles Leclerc gets closer and positions himself second, while Norris moves up to fourth. Bearman’s attempt to enter Q3 falls short by just 36 milliseconds.
**Q3**
First attempt: Max Verstappen raises the bar again and soars to the top in 1:27.472, ahead of Perez by three and a half tenths. Alonso takes third place, over half a second behind, with Charles Leclerc in fourth, a whopping eight-tenths behind. Fifth is Russell, followed by Piastri, Norris, Stroll, Hamilton, and Tsunoda.
Second attempt: Piastri beats Lando Norris and takes fourth place, while Tsunoda moves to ninth. Perez loses the front row to an outstanding Charles Leclerc, second by three-tenths behind Max Verstappen. Fourth place for Fernando Alonso despite a powerful tow, the fourth row is all for Mercedes with Stroll closing the group. Max Verstappen doesn’t improve, but he can be satisfied: no one can take away his Pole!
