Telemetry analysis from the final free practice session for the 2023 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona shows the Ferrari SF-23 car is lacking downforce:
Max Verstappen was closest to taking the last corner flat! However, Lewis Hamilton’s minimum speed in the corner was actually highest (258km/h)
Only Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz braked: he also lifted the soonest and went 100% throttle the latest, with the lowest minimum speed (249)
As stated, the SF-23 challenger is lacking downforce
Last look at the Barcelona minisectors before Qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix:

Ferrari reached the highest speed in the final free practice session for the Spanish Grand:
- the Maranello team is running a less-loaded rear wing compared to rivals Red Bull
- pn the other hand, this year, they’ve usually been running more detuned in FP compared to other teams
- could the new sidepods design of the SF-23 car have reduced their drag?
