The Alpine backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps provides the setting for 11 six of 22 in this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship. Originally known as the Osterreichring, the track played host to the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970-87. After being shortened and extensively upgraded for safety reasons, the track, then called the A1-Ring, reopened in 1997.
As the name suggest, the track is property of the F1 team, and was previously known as Österreichring or A1 Ring; it is one of the shortest on the calendar. It is 4.3 kms long, and it took just 1.03.103s to clock the fastest time last year.
Join us later in the afternoon to follow the latest Formula 1 results, timings, news, info and updates from the Red Bull Ring, as the eleventh round of the 2022 Formula 1 campaign is about to get underway in Spielberg. Scuderia Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will hit the track behind the wheel of the F1-75 car and challenge Red Bull for the race victory in front the Austrian fans.
