Inaki Rueda is no longer part of Ferrari’s F1 project. The Spanish engineer, who has been at the center of controversies related to Maranello’s disastrous race strategies for years, is stepping down from any role associated with the Formula 1 team. Frédéric Vasseur expresses full confidence in Ravin Jain, who took over as head of strategies from Inaki Rueda. It’s the new Ferrari that is taking shape.
The reorganization of the Maranello team’s Racing Division, announced by the new Ferrari team principal and already implemented at the beginning of 2023, continues during this winter break. With Laurent Mekies starting his work at AlphaTauri – and already trying to lure some key figures from his old team – and David Sanchez finally active at McLaren, another representative of the old Mattia Binotto management bids farewell: Inaki Rueda.
The Spanish engineer, staunchly defended by his old boss, had already been relieved of his role as Chief Strategist at the beginning of 2023. While Frédéric Vasseur emphasized that mistakes were not the result of a single individual, public opinion had long been calling for Inaki Rueda’s departure. Now, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport, the Spaniard will bid farewell to Formula 1.
When the change with Ravin Jain was announced, who himself had come under the media spotlight on several occasions, Inaki Rueda found a new role in the remote garage. A position still in the strategic domain but one he must now bid farewell to. He will remain with Ferrari, as it is learned, but will no longer be part of the group dedicated to Formula 1.

Many departures, indeed, but where are the arrivals? The Prancing Horse is losing pieces, yet the much-talked-about new additions seem to be slow in coming. With Loic Serra, exiting from Mercedes, a target for Ferrari but inactive until 2025, a winter full of news is expected from Maranello.
