“Lewis, it’s hammertime.” Over the past years, we’ve heard this phrase time and again when Peter Bonnington would signal to the seven-time world champion to start pushing decisively. It remains to be seen if the upcoming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this December will be the last time we get to hear what has effectively become a cult phrase within Formula 1.
Nearly two months after the announcement of the century’s biggest move, it is still uncertain who will be Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer at Scuderia Ferrari. Undoubtedly, many would like to see “Bono” move to Maranello, given the strong bond that has formed over the years between him and the British driver.
In recent weeks, there has been much discussion on this topic, so much so that, according to some rumors, it seemed that Frederic Vasseur was working to facilitate this integration. However, these rumors, also overshadowed by other scandals hitting the sport, have faded over time, leaving unanswered the question many fans have been asking and continue to ask.
An internal option emerges
Another hypothesis, gaining more consensus in recent hours, relates to Riccardo Adami. The current race engineer for Carlos Sainz has over the years proven to be one of the strengths of the Prancing Horse with his ability to manage every type of situation optimally.
He did it with Sebastian Vettel before and is now doing it with Carlos Sainz and Oliver Bearman. During the Jeddah weekend in Saudi Arabia, it was indeed Riccardo Adami who was one of the masterminds behind Oliver Bearman’s masterpiece. He calmed and reassured the young Ferrari Driver Academy talent multiple times during both the free practices and the race, assisting him in his first Formula 1 race.

For this reason, it seems that the Italian engineer might be the one to work with Lewis Hamilton starting next year, although, as of today, there are no official reports on the matter.
