As a guest on Radio Deejay, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc recounted the time he was stopped by the police for speeding.
“When I drive on the street, I like to think, to reflect,” explained Charles Leclerc, guest on Radio Deejay, as he clarified his preference for going fast only on the track. Despite a small incident with the police.
“I don’t like to push the limit on the road,” he added.
The two hosts then shared a funny anecdote to which the Monegasque replied with his own personal experience.
“There’s a legend that we’ve told a million times, about one of your ‘ancestors,'” Linus explains.
“Ivan Capelli told us that while driving to Monte Carlo at night, he was on the highway. Deserted road, he was driving his sports car. He was going fast, but not extremely fast. At one point, he finds himself behind a big sedan flashing its lights at him. Obviously, the driver’s pride kicks in, thinking, ‘Who dares to flash lights at me?’ So, Ivan also accelerates, and it becomes a real race between the two cars. At some point, Capelli slows down and says, ‘Let’s see who this idiot is.’ It was Clay Ragazzoni.”
Charles Leclerc’s incident, however, dates back to Monza 2019. “The only time I’ve been stopped, I was 2 or 3 km/h above the limit,” recounts the Monegasque. “It was the day after my victory in Monza. They asked me for a photo, and I drove off.” – the Ferrari driver said.
