The 2023 Formula 1 season hasn’t brought Ferrari what they were hoping for in Maranello: the path of the red team has been troubled, and Charles Leclerc can’t wait to turn the page, hoping for a more promising 2024.
Ferrari’s Technical Director, Enrico Cardile, has announced a completely different car from the current one for the upcoming championship. “It won’t be an evolution of the SF-23. It will be a brand-new single-seater,” he revealed during the Zandvoort weekend. “It will have a different chassis, with a different design, a different rear end that allows our aerodynamics department to develop the car better,” he explained, stating that the team has fully understood the flaws of the current car.
Reacting positively to Enrico Cardile’s words, driver Charles Leclerc stated during the Dutch weekend, “It’s great to hear these words. Of course, I can’t wait.”
“We still have a 2023 to finish, but we can only go in another direction,” he continued. “At the moment, the car is really tricky to drive. It’s simply very, very difficult to push to the limit.”

In the words reported by the Formula 1 website, Charles Leclerc once again highlighted the unpredictability of the current red car: “As soon as you get close to the limit, you don’t really know what’s about to happen. That’s exactly what happened on my Q3 lap. It’s a difficult situation,” he concluded following the 2023 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix.
