Lewis Hamilton remains optimistic about Ferrari’s Formula 1 project
Lewis Hamilton has not lost his enthusiasm and continues to expect improvements both from himself and from Ferrari as the 2025 Formula 1 season enters its final stages. After the Hungarian Grand Prix, he seemed to be the driver with the lowest morale in the entire paddock. However, Lewis Hamilton now appears to be the only one still strongly believing in Ferrari’s project, so much so that he spoke of possible progress that can be achieved in this closing phase of the championship.
Lewis Hamilton’s words after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The British driver addressed the situation at the end of the Baku weekend, highlighting the areas where there is still room for improvement, both on a personal level and beyond. “It was certainly a disappointing weekend considering the expectations we had after Friday. After FP2 I felt very comfortable with the car, but then the race pace was not at the same level as the others. And above all, the mistake in qualifying weighed heavily on the final result,” said the former Mercedes driver.
Despite that, the seven-time world champion has not lost his optimism. “I think there are still aspects where it’s possible to improve. For example, I am not yet 100% aggressive in the way I want to be. The car is a bit nervous, and this makes me avoid taking certain risks under braking. At Monza I did it, but here in Baku I wasn’t very happy with the setup. This situation is strange. We keep making progress, but without bringing home the results we want. Sooner or later we will succeed,” Lewis Hamilton added after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
