To respond to the severe weather emergency that hit Emilia-Romagna in the last weeks of May, several companies have decided to support the local authorities and populations through donations or by promoting fundraising campaigns.
Both Ferrari and Formula 1 announced that they would donate €1 million to the region. Additionally, the Piaggio Group and Aprilia donated €10 for every fan who attended the traditional “Aprilia All Stars” event at Misano, and the proceeds from various fundraising initiatives brought the final amount to €200,000.
In the world of motorsport, drivers have also tried to do their part, such as Charles Leclerc, who decided to auction his race kit used in the Monaco Grand Prix. It was a special kit specially designed for the home event, and it raised €358,000 to be donated to those in need.
The Bell HP77 helmet worn by the Monegasque driver throughout the entire weekend of the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix, which featured a design inspired by his father’s helmet, was sold for €255,000. The race suit, which incorporated the colors of the Monegasque flag, was purchased for €51,000. The shoes and gloves, also specially made for the home race with a white and red livery, were sold for a total of €52,000. Each of the four items was personally signed by Charles Leclerc and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
