Located on the man-made Île Notre-Dame, the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve frequently serves up one of the most unpredictable races of the year. The infamous ‘Wall of Champions’ on the exit of fiendishly tricky final chicane has brought a premature end to many drivers’ races.
Net we take a look at the latest weather forecast for the ninth round of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, the Canadian Grand Prix, and how the Montreal Formula 1 race will most likely be affected by the weather conditions in the next weekend.
It is almost time for the next event of the 2023 Formula One campaign, which is scheduled to take place at the 4.361-kilometre Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Sunday, June 18. Let’s take a look at what the weather has in store for the teams and drivers in Canada, with Ferrari hoping to see further improvement after a difficult first part of the season.
The weather in the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix can vary, but it is typically cool and wet due to the race being held in Montreal in June. The average temperature in Montreal in June is around 20°C (68°F), but it can drop to as low as 10°C (50°F) or rise to as high as 30°C (86°F). Rain is also common during this time of year, with an average of 13 rainy days in June. In fact, torrential rain threatened to disrupt the Canadian Grand Prix last year weekend with one practice session washed out after heavy rain fell on the circuit at Montreal.
The weather forecast for the 2023 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix:
This weekend, Formula 1 will once again take the spotlight in Montreal, at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, for the Canadian Grand Prix. The good news is that the alarm triggered by the hundreds of fires burning in Quebec has been partially resolved. These fires have generated high concentrations of fine particulate matter, which in recent days have reduced visibility and made the air unbreathable. That being said, let’s take a look at the weather forecast for the weekend.
According to the main weather forecasting websites, the weekend in Canada could be marked by rain, starting from Thursday in Montreal.
