The Abu Dhabi weekend has finally arrived, bringing with it the last Formula 1 race of the 2025 season. Given Ferrari’s challenging year, Charles Leclerc believes that a podium on Sunday could prevent Maranello from entering the winter break after two rather disappointing final races.
In Qatar, both Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton struggled throughout the weekend. The British driver was eliminated in Q1 in both qualifying sessions and finished out of the points, while the Monegasque managed to secure eighth place on Sunday.
These results added to a season that has been well below expectations. The Scuderia is set to finish fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, without a single victory, unless Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton can manage to win at Yas Marina.
However, Charles Leclerc has described the possibility of a win as “unrealistic,” though a podium is still within reach, offering a chance to bring some “happiness” before the winter break.
As reported by RacingNews365, Charles Leclerc said: “I’m really looking forward to Abu Dhabi to try to end the season on a more positive note. I hope to give ourselves a bit more happiness before the holidays, because it would be rather depressing to finish the year after two weekends like those in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. I want to leave Abu Dhabi on a positive note.”
“I’ll do everything possible to make the most of what’s left of our car and, hopefully, finish on the podium one last time this year. A victory is quite unrealistic, but a podium, I really hope for it, even if, to be honest, after a race like Qatar, my chances feel very slim.” – the Monegasque driver concluded ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.
With the top three on the grid locked in their own championship fight, opportunities for the Ferrari SF-25 cars to shine may be limited. But for Charles Leclerc and the Tifosi, one final flash of scarlet on the Yas Marina rostrum would at least soften the blow of what has been a deeply painful year.
