There is talk again of Lewis Hamilton joining Scuderia Ferrari in the 2024 Formula 1 season. It could be yet another rumor, but this time there are a few more clues to discuss.
According to what the Daily Mail defines as an “exclusive” report, the Maranello team would already have a contract ready with an astonishing figure to convince the Mercedes driver to join the Italian side next year. It is a £40 million deal that, as reported by the British newspaper, would offer the multiple Formula 1 world champion the opportunity to join Scuderia Ferrari, surpassing Michael Schumacher’s record.
The German driver had won five of his seven world titles with the Maranello team. At the moment, as reported from England, the Italian team has already initiated discussions between President John Elkann and the interested party, Lewis Hamilton.
Lewis Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes expires at the end of the current championship, yet he has always expressed his intention to finish his career with the team he has dominated with in Formula 1 for years. In fact, the German team is very calm about this matter and is confident that the British driver will eventually decide to stay with them for much longer.
If the Scuderia Ferrari – Lewis Hamilton agreement were to become a reality, two scenarios are envisioned for the following Formula 1 campaign. The first, the most obvious one, is that the English driver would find himself racing alongside Charles Leclerc. The second would be to sacrifice the Monegasque driver and pair Carlos Sainz with Lewis Hamilton. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, would go to Mercedes alongside George Russell.

The Daily Mail specifies that for Lewis Hamilton, it will not be a matter of money since both Mercedes and Ferrari can offer him the same amount. Rather, it will all depend on how competitive the car will be in 2024. Based on the facts, it would be more advantageous for Lewis Hamilton to play “at home,” remaining secure in Toto Wolff’s team, with whom he wants to win his eighth title.
